Nature's Sunshine Products, Inc. was founded by Gene, Kristine and Pauline Hughes in 1972. They started NSP by encapsulating herbs and selling them to health food stores. Today NSP is a publically traded company. They have over 500,000 distributors that use direct marketing as well as home parties to market their nutritional and personal care products. The company currently has over 500 products consisting of herbal products, vitamins, mineral supplements and homeopathic products. The company purchases herbs and other raw materials in bulk, and, after doing quality control testing, formulates and encapsulates its products for shipment.
